How to calculate Poshmark fees
Poshmark has charged a flat fee on low-priced sales and a percentage on the rest. The buyer normally pays for shipping on a prepaid label, so shipping is not part of the sale price.
- Fee = flat fee if the sale price is below the threshold, otherwise rate x sale price
- You receive = sale price – fee
- Profit = you receive – item cost – other costs
- Break-even price = costs / (1 – rate), or costs + flat fee for low prices
Worked example
You sell a jacket for $40.00. It is above the $15.00 threshold, so the fee is 20% of $40.00 = $8.00 and you receive $32.00. If the jacket cost you $12.00, your profit is $20.00, a margin of 50.0% on the sale price. The break-even price is 12 / (1 – 0.20) = $15.00.
For a $10.00 item the flat fee of $2.95 applies instead, so you receive $7.05. A $14.99 item is charged the flat fee, while a $15.00 item is charged 20%, which is $3.00, so the cheaper item can leave you with more money. Prices just under the threshold are worth testing.
Poshmark sellers often raise their list price to leave room for offers and discounts. Enter the price you expect to actually receive, not the listing price, to see the true profit.
Assumptions & limits
- The defaults of a $2.95 flat fee under $15 and 20% at or above $15 are widely reported figures. The official Poshmark fee page could not be read when this calculator was built, so check it and edit the rates. Last checked: November 5, 2026.
- The buyer is assumed to pay for shipping with a prepaid label, so shipping is not counted. If you pay for shipping, add it under other costs.
- Sales tax, promotional discounts, income tax and returns are not included.
- Fees can change by country and by account type.
- It is a pricing guide and not tax or financial advice.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Poshmark take from a sale?
Poshmark has charged a flat fee of $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20 percent on sales of $15 or more. Check the Poshmark fee page for the current rule and edit the fields if it differs.
Why is a $15 item charged more than a $14.99 item?
Because the percentage rule starts at the threshold. A $15 item pays 20 percent, which is $3.00, while a $14.99 item pays the flat $2.95.
Does the seller pay for shipping on Poshmark?
Normally the buyer pays for a prepaid label. If you cover it, add the cost under other costs.
How do I price to cover offers and discounts?
Enter the price you expect to receive after offers. The profit shown is then based on what you really get.
What is the break-even price?
It is the lowest price that covers your costs and the Poshmark fee, so your profit is zero.
Are the fees the same for all sellers?
Not always. Check your own account and the fee page, and edit the fields to match.
