How to use this Depop Fee Calculator

How to calculate Depop fees and profit
The calculator adds the selling fee and the payment fee, then subtracts them and your costs from what the buyer pays.
- Total paid by the buyer = sale price + shipping charged
- Selling fee = fee rate x total paid + fixed fee
- Payment fee = processing rate x total paid + fixed fee
- Payout = total paid – selling fee – payment fee
- Profit = payout – item cost – shipping cost – other costs
Worked example
You sell an item for $50 and the buyer pays $8 shipping. The item cost you $15 and your shipping label and packaging cost $8. Using the defaults (no selling fee and 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing), the fees are $2.36, which is 4.1% of the $58.00 the buyer pays in total. You receive $55.64 before your own costs. After the item cost and shipping your profit is $32.64, a margin of 56.3% on the sale. The break-even sale price, where profit is zero, is $16.25.
On Depop the shipping label is often the biggest cost after the item, so test a lower and a higher price. Because the default selling fee is zero, almost all the fee is the card processing charge, and it scales with the total the buyer pays, including shipping.
Many sellers raise the price a little to cover processing and offer free shipping to improve conversion. Try that here by adding the shipping to the sale price and setting buyer shipping to zero, then compare the profit.
Assumptions & limits
- These defaults are placeholders that could not be confirmed from the official page when this calculator was built, so treat them as editable estimates and check the platform before you rely on them.
- The fee rates are editable inputs. Platforms change fees and add promotions, categories and tiers, so check the official fee page before you set prices. Rates in this tool were last checked on November 5, 2026.
- The calculator does not include sales tax collected by the platform, income tax, returns, chargebacks or promoted listing costs.
- The break-even price assumes your costs stay the same and that every fee scales with the sale as shown.
- It is a pricing guide, not financial or tax advice.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Depop charge sellers?
The calculator starts from no selling fee and 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing. These can change, so check the Depop help center and edit the rates if they differ.
Does Depop charge a selling fee?
Depop has changed its fee model more than once. The default here is a 0% selling fee with card processing only, but check the help center and edit the rate if your account shows a different fee.
How do I find my break-even price?
Add your item cost, shipping and fixed fees, then divide by one minus the fee percentages. The calculator does this and shows the result.
Does the payout include shipping?
Shipping the buyer pays is part of the total they pay, so the payout includes it. Your own shipping label cost is then taken off as a cost.
