How to calculate TikTok Shop fees and profit

The calculator adds the TikTok Shop referral fee and the payment fee, then subtracts them and your costs from what the buyer pays.

  • Total paid by the buyer = sale price + shipping charged
  • Selling fee = fee rate x sale price + fixed fee
  • Payment fee = processing rate x total paid + fixed fee
  • Payout = total paid – selling fee – payment fee
  • Profit = payout – item cost – shipping cost – other costs

Worked example

You sell an item for $50 and the buyer pays $8 shipping. The item cost you $15 and your shipping label and packaging cost $8. Using the defaults (a 6% referral fee), the fees are $3.00, which is 5.2% of the $58.00 the buyer pays in total. You receive $55.00 before your own costs. After the item cost and shipping your profit is $32.00, a margin of 55.2% on the sale. The break-even sale price, where profit is zero, is $15.96.

On TikTok Shop the referral fee is only part of the cost. Affiliate commissions paid to creators, shipping and returns can matter more. Add an expected creator commission under other costs to see the real margin, for example 10% of the sale price.

Because many sellers run discounts and free shipping, test a few price points. The break-even price shows the lowest price at which each sale still pays for itself.

Assumptions & limits

  • The TikTok Shop defaults here are editable estimates. They could not be confirmed against the official Seller Center page when this tool was built, so check your own fee rates there before you rely on the result.
  • Every rate is an editable input. TikTok Shop fees can differ by region, category and seller programme, and campaigns can change them, so confirm them in Seller Center before you set prices.
  • The calculator does not include sales tax collected by the platform, income tax, returns, refunds, chargebacks or the cost of ads and promotions you run.
  • The break-even price assumes your costs stay the same and that every fee scales with the sale as shown.
  • It is a pricing guide, not financial or tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does TikTok Shop charge sellers?

The calculator starts from a 6% referral fee. These can change, so check TikTok Shop Seller Center and edit the rates if they differ.

Do creator commissions count?

They are not part of the platform fee, so enter them under other costs. If you pay a creator 10% on a $50 sale, add 5.00.

How do I find my break-even price on TikTok Shop?

Add your item cost, shipping, any creator commission and fixed fees, then divide by one minus the fee percentages. The calculator does this and shows the result.

Does the payout include shipping?

Shipping the buyer pays is part of the total they pay, so the payout includes it. Your own shipping label cost is then taken off as a cost.
